Early Days of Fasting

We are now in the fifth day of fasting. Already feeling slight fatigue perhaps due to old age. As told in my previous post, my second son Ihsan came back last Tuesday to spend the first day of Ramadhan with us. He went back to work last Friday (second day of fasting). Due to his umrah leave (probably has exhausted his leaves), he will most probably not come back home for this year's Eid (feeling rather sad about this). Thus, we took the opportunity to have some photos with him before he left.

On that Friday itself, our third son Izhar came back home after work. He too, has probably exhausted his leaves due to the umrah trip. It is good that he spend the first Ramadhan weekend with us. For tarawih prayers, we decided to perform them only at home since my other half's health problems. In this way, she gets to do the prayers in congregation. After tarawih prayers last night, Izhar went back to Seri Kembangan for work today.

The only son that has not spent Ramadhan with us is our youngest since he went back to his UiTM college the weekend before Ramadhan. We hope to see him before Eid which hopefully coincides with his semester break.

I cherish all these moments with the family and somehow regretted that I prioritise work over family during my working life. I do wish that bosses at any workplace do appreciate the sacrifice that we make sometime. We sometimes hear the phrase "leave your domestic problem at home and focus on your work" but yet we tend to bring work problems home. Sometimes bosses can be unemphatic, not caring about what problems workers have at home even where there's unattended sick family members or sadness in loss of family members. I pray that our society will start to take note in the importance of developing a healthy working life cycle.
