I thought I just do one last post for March and give an update of the health conditions of my other half. Today, we spend almost a day at KPJ Hospital in Seremban. Despite my earlier post said that her next appointment was three weeks away, she requested for earlier appointment as she was worried about her conditions not getting any better even with the given medication. Just a day ago she seems to be developing a fever and the risk of brain infection is real. The specialist had also suggested that she go for a CT scan today.
So we are up early today to go to the hospital to ensure that we get a parking place this time. The specialist clinic only opens at 9 am and we had an hour and a half wait before she got to see the specialist.
The doctor collected the nasal fluid sample from my other half, for some tests ascertaining the CSF leak together with blood test. The wait for the CT scan with its report is longer and the report was only ready after 2pm. I do notice the radiology section was exceptionally busy today.
Having got the lab and CT scan results, the report did not show abnormalities (alhamdulillah) but CSF leak is confirmed. Thus, the specialist recommended to go for MRI scan next week to probe the source of the leak. It was also recommended that a surgery be made to repair this leak. This has to be done as brain infection risk is high. For the surgery, an external specialist, Dr. Fattah is needed; he is said to be familiar with the surgical procedure. I was told that her case was rather exceptional. I was pointed to this article: Spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea.
Given this situation, I have to prepare myself financially. Already, earlier this week, my blue Chevrolet Aveo car already had the driver side window cracked probably due to a deflected stone hitting the window. More financial costs to worry.
May Allah ease our path this Ramadhan.
